FINDING FORRESTER

Agoraphobia ("fear of the marketplace" in Greek) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intense fear of being caught or trapped in situations where no help is available should some incapacitating (e.g., losing control) or embarrassing (e.g., fainting) event occur in the presence of others.

In finding forrester, william forrester is an agoraphic in the movie, who never seems to leave his apartment. He is a brillant writer who has remained reclusive after winning a "Pulitzer prize"on his book Avalon Landing.Living alone in a changing neighborhood in the Bronx, forrester makes the acquaintance of Kamal, an intellectually gifted inner city kid, who plays street basketball and loves to write. They reluctantly hookup and forrester teaches him the intangible discipline and art of writing from the heart ,in a condition that he will keep his identity and their work as a secret. In the end Forrester and Jamal soon find that a common passion can forge an uncommon bond.

The real life american author J.D salinger and fictional character William Forrester have many things common in between them .Few of them are listed below:
*They both are notoriously reclusive authors.
*In the movie ,Forrester blocked a biography of himself that the character Prof. Robert Crawford was going to have published. Salinger did the same thing through a lawsuit against Lan Hamilton.
* Both also only wrote one book that is wildly popular: Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye and Forrester's Avalon Landing
